Do we need to supply anything ourselves?
Only the food you eat and the clothes you stand up in!
There are no hidden extra's at WhiteCraggs. Everything is included in the price you pay.

Is the property suitable for Disabled people?
The property which was built 100 years ago does not lend itself to ease of access for disabled people. Black Combe and Scafell are on the first floor and there is only stair access to these Apartments. Skiddaw which is on the Ground Floor has flat access but is not fitted with special equipment. There is wide door access suitable for a wheelchair.

Why do you mention the Gardens so much?
The Gardens are very well known. They were planted in the early 1900's using trees and shrubs brought back from expeditions to places such as the Himalayas, Nepal, Japan etc. The Rock Gardens were once open to the Public who used to holiday here. Church services were held with up to 3,000 people in the Gardens singing in Choirs.

Do we have free access to the Gardens?
Yes. At any time. Benches are provided at strategic points so that you may enjoy the views and watch local wildlife. The Belvedere at the top of the Gardens looks down the length of Lake Windermere.

Are there facilities to wash and dry clothes?
Yes. A washroom with separate Washer and Dryer has been provided for the convenience of guests.

How far from Ambleside is the property?
Exactly one mile. Ambleside Village has everything you may want for day shopping or night time entertainment. You can walk in and therefore drink as much alcohol as you like!

Where is Ambleside?
Ambleside is at the very heart of the Lake District. It is the most central spot from which you can travel easily to any of the Lakes or main Villages.

When I stay can I invite friends to stay as well?
Visitors are welcome during the day. Due to Insurance and Fire Regulations they cannot stay overnight. Only the number of people we book can stay overnight. We politely request that extra visitors leave no later than midnight.

How do we pay?
Our favourite question! You can pay by crdit card, cheque or cash. We ask for a deposit of £100 minimum (dependent on booking) and full settlement 14 days before arrival.

When can I book Short Breaks from and to?
Our holiday week runs from Saturday to Saturday, therefore Short Breaks can either start or end on a Saturday. We do not normally offer Friday/Saturday/Sunday breaks other than in January.
